Group Chief People Officer
About the Company
Our client is a diversified regional group with multiple operating companies across Southeast Asia and Greater China, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.
As the group continues to grow, they are looking for a Group Chief People Officer to establish a consistent people strategy, strengthen leadership capability and build a high-performance culture across the organization.
Reporting directly to the Group CEO, this is a strategic and hands-on role for an experienced People leader who can work effectively across different businesses, markets and cultures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the group-wide People and Culture strategy.
- Build practical people, leadership and performance playbooks across all operating companies.
- Coach senior leaders and support employees transitioning into management positions.
- Strengthen leadership accountability, management capability and workplace culture.
- Identify emerging cultural, leadership and organizational issues before they escalate.
- Act as a trusted escalation point for sensitive employee and leadership matters.
- Lead succession planning, talent development and leadership pipeline initiatives.
- Conduct regular people and organizational reviews with business leaders.
- Manage performance improvement processes for leaders and employees who consistently fall below expectations.
- Review and sense-check senior appointments, critical hires and major headcount requests.
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning and business growth.
- Represent the company professionally with international partners, investors, advisers and senior external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a senior regional or group-level People, HR or organizational leadership role.
- Proven experience managing People matters across multiple companies, business units or countries.
- Strong understanding of Southeast Asian business cultures, particularly Indonesia.
- Experience influencing and coaching senior leaders across Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan and/or China.
- Demonstrated ability to develop managers, manage underperformance and improve leadership effectiveness.
- Experience building scalable people frameworks, policies and operating models.
- Commercial, practical and confident working directly with CEOs and senior leadership teams.
- Strong judgement, cultural awareness and ability to handle complex or sensitive matters.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial and evolving business environment.
