About the team:
In this traineeship, you will play the role in supporting the development, growth, and optimisation of MariBank's SME lending products, including the Mari Business Loan and Mari Term Loan. This traineeship offers hands-on exposure to go-to-market planning, customer acquisition strategies, portfolio analytics, and process improvement initiatives within a fast-paced digital banking environment.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, credit underwriters, data analysts, and operations teams to drive insights and support lending initiatives. Throughout this traineeship, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of how digital SME lending products are designed, launched, and managed end-to-end, from market analysis and customer segmentation to credit assessment and operational workflows.
Job Description:
This is a 6 months full-time onsite role based in Singapore as part of the . The GRaduate Industry Traineeships (GRIT) Programme is an initiative by Workforce Singapore (WSG) that offers fresh graduates with traineeship opportunities across various sectors.
- Support the SME Lending team in planning and executing go-to-market strategies for Mari Business Loan and Mari Term Loan, including market research, competitor benchmarking, and customer acquisition analysis.
- Assist in generating customer and portfolio insights by analysing segment behaviours, performance trends, and business opportunities to guide product and portfolio actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including Product, Credit, Data, and Operations - to identify process gaps and contribute to process improvement initiatives for the lending workflow.
- Participate in learning and exposure sessions on SME credit underwriting, supporting preliminary assessments and understanding key risk considerations in evaluating SME borrowers.
Job Requirements:
- Graduated or graduating in 2024 and 2025 from universities, or graduated earlier and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.
- Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident.
- Ideally a degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of basic financial concepts, with the ability to analyze numbers, assess risks, and communicate insights clearly.
- Prior experience in financial services, SME lending, credit analysis, or customer-facing roles is an advantage.
- Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a problem-solving mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams (sales, risk, operations) as well as external SME clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
