Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a Game Developer Trainee to support our development team at Garena. This traineeship offers hands-on experience in game design, programming, and development workflows, contributing to the creation and refinement of game features. You will gain exposure to real-world game development across the full lifecycle from prototyping to testing.

Job Description:

This is a 6 months full-time onsite role based in Singapore as part of the GRIT Programme. The GRaduate Industry Traineeships (GRIT) Programme is an initiative by Workforce Singapore (WSG) that offers fresh graduates with traineeship opportunities across various sectors.

  • Develop playable game builds following the assigned or approved idea
  • Work on the design, coding, and implementation of game features
  • Conduct debugging and troubleshooting to ensure smooth gameplay
  • Record gameplay sessions and gather feedback on user experience and mechanics
  • Document key learnings and propose actionable changes or improvements to game mechanics and development processes

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 and 2025 with a Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field or graduated earlier and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025
  • Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Proficiency in game development tools and platforms such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Roblox Studio or other relevant engines
  • Programming skills in relevant languages such as C#, C++, Python, Lua, etc
  • Basic understanding of game design principles, mechanics, and user experience
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and staff
  • Time management and organizational skills to meet weekly deliverables and deadlines
  • Experience in game development (academic projects, personal projects, or professional experience) is a plus
