Job Description

About SCDA

SCDA is an international practice seamlessly integrating architecture, interiors, landscape and object-making to create holistic spatial experiences that are intrinsically sustainable. With offices in Singapore, Shanghai, Manila and New York City, SCDA has projects in over 80 locations across Asia, Africa, Europe, Oceania, and North America. In parallel, SCDA Lab pioneers social and cultural initiatives, applying research and design to enact measurable change and advance the environmental cause.

We are seeking a Graphic Designer with strong hands-on experience and independent creative maturity—someone who has built a practice around craft, visual clarity and problem-solving. Ideal candidates may come from a smaller studio environment or have run their own design practice, bringing both creative ownership and practical know-how. This role supports SCDA, Soori and Ilora across brand identity, marketing, presentations and digital communication.

The Role

  • Design across print, digital, presentations, branding, social media and large-format materials.
  • Develop marketing and business development materials (presentations, proposals, brochures).
  • Produce hoarding designs, project signage and large-format layouts.
  • Liaise with vendors on colour accuracy, materials and press proofs.
  • Prepare accurate pre-press and production-ready artwork.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to support workflow, ideation, image creation and layout development.

Experience

  • Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or related field.
  • 8–12 years experience in a design-led environment (boutique studio, independent practice, or client-facing creative role).
  • Experience owning or running a design studio or freelance practice is welcomed.
  • Comfortable working autonomously without corporate structures or layers.

Skills

  • Strong eye for layout, typography, proportion and visual identity.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat).
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of AI design tools (e.g., Firefly, Midjourney, AI-assisted layout tools).
  • Familiarity with motion or video editing (Premiere Pro / After Effects) is an advantage.
  • Understanding of print and digital production, colour management and file optimisation.

Key Attributes

  • Self-driven, resourceful and comfortable working with creative independence.
  • Not a corporate designer — adaptable, hands-on, and used to delivering real project work.
  • Clear communicator with good organisational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple timelines.
  • Collaborative, open, and comfortable learning new tools and techniques.
