What You'll Do:
Shape the Policy Landscape Behind Singapore's Energy Connectivity
- Align business with national purpose: Develop SGEI's company strategy and performance metrics to align with Singapore's energy policy goals. Help translate national ambition into corporate execution.
- Influence cross-border energy policy: Build trusted relationships with Singapore and foreign government stakeholders to understand their policy prioritiesand shape the frameworks that will enable SGEI's cross-border interconnector projects to succeed.
- Anticipate risk and plan boldly: Design enterprise-level frameworks to manage financial, regulatory, and geopolitical risk. Conduct horizon scanning and scenario analysis to position SGEI ahead of policy shifts, and craft mitigation strategies that keep projects on track.
- Be the company's policy radar: Monitor regulatory changes and global policy developments across energy, environment, security, and finance that could impact SGEI's operations. Turn complexity into clarity, and provide forward-looking policy intelligence to the leadership team.
- Ensure gold-standard compliance: Keep SGEI fully aligned with prevailing rules and regulations in Singapore and our partner countries. Translate policy into internal practice, so our operations meet and exceed expectations.
- Represent SGEI on the big stage: Champion the company's interests in regulatory consultations, stakeholder forums, and government briefings. Help influence the frameworks that will define Singapore's cross-border electricity trade.
What You'll Need:
- Education in Economics, Business, Public Policy, International Relations or a related field.
- Experience in government policy and risk management, ideally within the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and policy development processes.
- Strong writing, excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze complex policy and risk issues and their implications
- Able to travel and be based overseas for up to a week at a time.
