Responsibilities
1. Design and implement a daily/weekly schedule/routine tailored to the child's age and abilities, aimed at developing child's reading/writing of Chinese language and to nurture child's intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development. Examples of activities include reading, writing, signing, sensory play, arts C crafts, guided free play.
2. Source materials needed for planned activities and prepare/set up activities before child arrives.
3. Instruct children in Chinese language.
4. Instill the love of learning in children.
5. Monitor child's academic, physical, and socio-emotional progress and provide regular (weekly) feedback to parents.
6. Foster good manners, discipline, and social etiquette in line with the family's values.
7. Coordinate with tutors, extracurricular instructors, and schools as needed. Assist in making payments to tutors and extracurricular instructors
8. Organize educational activities, cultural outings, and age-appropriate enrichment programs.
9. Assist in sending child to extracurricular activities, school, and any other place required in daily schedule.
10. Assist with homework and school projects once the children attend formal schooling.
11. Encourage healthy routines, including reading, exercise, and structured free time.
12. Supervise helpers/nannies
13. Ensure play areas are kept neat, clean, and organized. Examples include sorting storage of toys and books according to age, rotating toys and books on display every week
14. Travel with the family when required and maintain continuity of education during travel.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred).
2. Teaching certification or proven experience in a similar educational role for at least 10 years.
3. Excellent command of Chinese to teach the children.
4. Good command of English to speak with the parents.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Strong organizational skills.
7. Ability to work with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
8. Flexibility in scheduling (in case need to stay later in the day), including availability to travel.
9. CPR/first aid certification is a plus.
