Job Summary
He / she is responsible for executing club rules, policies, and guidelines established by the committee. This role supports daily operations by supervising marshals and golf stewards and coordinates and executes golf tournaments and events.
Responsibilities
- Enforce golf rules from the Club Rules Handbook, including managing order of play, controlling play hours, handling time sheet bookings, verifying player eligibility, certifying handicaps, and maintaining handicap records to ensure fair play and compliance.
- Coordinate and execute golf tournaments and events such as Fa Cai Cup, Wee Kim Wee Challenge Trophy, Brigadier Derek Warren Challenge Trophy, Captain's Team vs Lady Captain's Team Event, 72-Hole Stroke Play Championship, Club Match Play Championship, Monthly Medal, Golf Medal, and SGA and SLGA Inter-Club Matches to deliver seamless event experiences.
- Assist the Head of Department and Senior Golf Admin Executive in planning and executing all golf activities and private tournaments to support operational goals.
- Supervise the Golf department staff to maintain smooth daily operations and high service standards.
- Brief, motivate, and communicate regularly with golfing staff to strengthen teamwork, identify challenges, and implement solutions.
- Plan and manage duty rosters for junior staff to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
- Attend monthly sub-committee and ad-hoc golf-related meetings to contribute to strategic and operational discussions.
- Assist in conducting Rules and Etiquette training seminars for new members to promote understanding and adherence to club standards.
- Draft quotations for private tournaments for review by the Head of Department to support event planning and budgeting.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department to support department objectives.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Secondary education with 2 years of related working experience.
- Knowledge of basic golf rules, handicapping, and golf operations to effectively manage golf activities.
- Understanding of basic golf course maintenance to identify and report potential course issues.
- Planning and organizing skills to successfully execute golf competitions and events.
- Leadership skills to supervise and guide golf staff effectively.
- Strong communication skills to respond to members requests and expectations professionally.
- Customer-oriented and cheerful personality to enhance member experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office to support administrative tasks.
- Willingness to work outdoors predominantly.
- Hands-on approach to managing daily golf operations.
