Our client is a market leader in their sector. They are in the B2B manufacturing sector and have global footprint. They are currently looking to hire a Global VP of Finance (Accounting and Controllership) to provide strategic leadership across its global controllership and accounting functions.
Reporting to the Global CFO, this role will have overall responsibility for global controllership, financial consolidation, accounting governance and compliance with IFRS, while driving greater consistency, efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation's finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the global accounting and controllership function, providing strong technical and operational leadership across multiple countries and entities.
- Oversee global financial consolidation and reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and integrity of financial information.
- Ensure consistent application of IFRS and accounting policies across the global organisation, while monitoring changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance on complex accounting matters, including technical accounting, reporting and consolidation issues.
- Strengthen the global financial controls and governance framework, ensuring robust processes and compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
- Lead and develop a geographically dispersed finance team, building strong accounting capabilities and a high-performance culture.
- Drive process standardisation, automation and continuous improvement across accounting and controllership activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, reporting quality and operational efficiency across the global organisation.
- Partner closely with regional and country finance leaders, as well as senior business stakeholders, to strengthen financial discipline and support business performance.
- Work closely with other senior finance leaders on transformation initiatives, systems implementation and broader finance optimisation programmes.
- Act as a key finance leader in supporting business growth, organisational change and strategic initiatives across the global manufacturing network.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
- Significant experience in senior finance leadership roles, with a strong track record in accounting and controllership.
- Demonstrated experience leading global or international finance teams across multiple countries and entities.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, consolidation and accounting governance.
- Experience in driving finance transformation, process improvement, standardisation and automation initiatives.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or other complex, multi-site industrial organisation would be highly advantageous.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to partner effectively with senior business and finance stakeholders.
- Proven people leadership capabilities, with experience developing and managing geographically dispersed teams.
- Comfortable operating in a complex, matrixed and multicultural global organisation.
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
