Responsibilities
Our Global Legal Compliance team provides key support for ByteDance's and TikTok's innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global markets. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal and compliance guidance and support. The Global Legal Compliance team is growing fast and seeking highly experienced, bright, and capable compliance professionals to join us. We are looking for an experienced Trade Compliance Specialist to be based in Singapore to join our Global Legal Compliance team as a key member to advise and support import, customs and export controls related issues. The ideal candidate is willing to work in a fast-paced, global environment with cross-functional teams in different time zones. Key Responsibilities - Participates in and contributes to a wide range of trade compliance activities and cross-functional engagements. - Possesses in depth knowledge of global customs and import laws, including US, EU, and APAC laws, and relevant agency guidance. - Maintains and improves TikTok's trade compliance policies, procedures, and controls. - Supports in preparing and delivering trade compliance training. - Performs HS classification reviews. - Proactively identifies, assesses, and mitigates trade compliance risk across the global supply chain. - Maintains trade compliance records and reports.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree in the area of specialization or closely related field (e.g., international trade, law, compliance, public policy, or logistics). - Proven in-house trade compliance experience. - Strong understanding and working knowledge of global import and customs laws, export control laws, and agency guidance. - Experience with trade compliance program management. - Ability to proactively identify import risk across the global supply chain. - Experience conducting HS classification. - Excellent oral and written communication, organization, project management, and documentation skills, and willing to travel and work in different time zones. Preferred Qualifications - Ability to proactively identify trade compliance issues. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating flexibility, commitment to teamwork, and a willingness to prioritize assignments to more timely meet internal stakeholder needs. - Experience in information technology companies preferred. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in international business, international relations, international trade, law degree or a related degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
