Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Strategy & Vendor Management

  • Develop terminal procurement strategies for assigned Areas in collaboration with Area offices and ONE's overall procurement strategy.

  • Establish and maintain long-term, strategic vendor partnerships at key locations to secure capacity, enhance performance, and create sustainable value.

  • Develop negotiation plans and strategies to secure competitive cost structures.

  • Lead and execute contract negotiations in collaboration with GHQ Legal.

  • Coordinate terminal procurement strategies with alliance partners where applicable.

  • Support the implementation of global sustainability initiatives with vendors.

2. Contract Management

  • Act as Primary PIC for Terminal Contract Management in India & Middle East.

  • Serve as Backup PIC for Terminal Contract Coordination in Africa.

  • Coordinate procurement-related discussions with Network Planning and Trade teams (Africa region).

  • Participate in alliance meetings and communications, ensuring decisions align with ONE's strategic interests.

  • Liaise with WAS RHQ for Middle East & India-related matters (Neptune, Budget, Monthly Meetings, Visitor Arrangements).

3. Cost Control & Performance Management

  • Ensure accurate, transparent cost accounting and forecasting.

  • Conduct consistent cost monitoring and reporting to identify cost variances and unusual patterns.

  • Evaluate root causes of cost deviations and proactively address escalations through corrective actions.

  • Drive cost-saving initiatives through vendor negotiations.

  • Support cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Regional HQs and stakeholders to improve cost competitiveness and operational efficiency.

  • Analyze terminal cost structures to detect operational issues and enhance regional competitiveness.

4. Digitalization & Process Improvement

  • Participate in P&N digitalization projects to improve operational efficiency and cost control processes.

KPI

  • Achieve cost savings and maintain regional cost competitiveness.

  • Ensure accurate cost monitoring, reporting, and forecasting.

  • Strengthen vendor relationships and alliance coordination.

    Job Requirements

    • Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders

    • Proven negotiation skills, particularly in vendor/terminal negotiations

    • Willingness to travel to India and the Middle East

    • Strong logical thinking and basic numerical/analytical skills

    • Ability to review and understand contractual terms

    • Ability to multitask and work under tight and competing deadlines

    • Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace
