We are seeking an experienced Support Engineer to join a leading global semiconductor equipment company, supporting advanced deposition equipment and processes.
This is a highly technical, customer-facing role focused on resolving complex equipment and process issues, supporting escalations from the field, and working closely with customers and global engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues on semiconductor deposition equipment, including electro-mechanical, vacuum, process, and software-related systems.
- Lead technical investigations and root cause analysis (RCA) for challenging equipment and process issues.
- Provide advanced technical support at customer sites, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, equipment recovery, and performance optimisation.
- Act as a technical escalation point for field engineers and customers.
- Collaborate closely with product engineering, process engineering, software, reliability, and R&D teams to develop and implement technical solutions.
- Analyse equipment and process data to identify failure mechanisms, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve tool performance.
- Communicate technical findings, corrective actions, and recommendations clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior engineers while contributing to technical knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Develop technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, reports, and service solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Chemical, Materials, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving experience with complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Experience supporting semiconductor deposition equipment is strongly preferred, including technologies such as CVD, PECVD, ALD, PVD, or other thin-film deposition processes.
- Strong understanding of structured troubleshooting, fault isolation, and root cause analysis.
- Experience working directly with semiconductor fabs and operating in cleanroom environments is preferred.
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
- Ability to work effectively across field service, engineering, product, and R&D teams.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
Why Join This Role
This is an opportunity to work on some of the most advanced semiconductor deposition technologies in the industry and take ownership of challenging technical problems that directly impact customer manufacturing operations.
The role offers strong exposure to customers, product engineering, and global R&D teams and is particularly suited to engineers who enjoy deep technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and solving problems beyond routine equipment maintenance.
