Function and Scope of the Position:

The GO APAC Finance Director is a key business partner to senior leadership, overseeing financial performance across Illumina's APAC Global Operations and selected G&A functions. This role is responsible for driving overall APAC Operations financial performance, providing strategic insight and decision making across APAC functions including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Life Cycle Management, Quality, Facilities and Finance.

The position is responsible for all aspects of financial planning and analysis, strategic projects, financial modeling, financial reporting, product costing & business systems.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Partnership and Leadership

  • Partner across APAC GO & G&A Orgto drive business results towards targets
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align operational strategies with financial goals
  • Work across the company to effectively prepare and assess analytics for project portfolio reviews with ROI analyses and other relevant financial metrics to drive profitable decision making
  • Identify business risks and opportunities, partnering with leaders on mitigation strategies and value creation plans

Financial Planning, Analysis & Decision Support

  • Review and drive the planning, forecasting, and budgeting process for areas of responsibility to maximize profitable returns and long-term growth in alignment with corporate goals and priorities.
  • Report, analyze, and translate data into key actionable insights that drive strategic decision
  • Actively prepare and participate in all financial and business reviews for areas of responsibility.
  • Support long-term planning, scenario modeling, and investment prioritization. Ensure accuracy, transparency and accountability

Operations Finance, Costing & Performance Optimization

  • Address complex business challenges and questions dealing with standard costing, manufacturing capacity optimization, unfavorable manufacturing variances, and other issues related to Operations Finance technical topics.
  • Develop and execute our product standard costing roadmap with a goal of driving to more refined standard cost estimates
  • Partner cross-functionally to manage cost of goods sold, operating expense, headcount and capital expenditure planning,
  • Partner with GO teams including Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and margin improvement initiatives

Governance, Controls & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, and analytics capabilities.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with Company policies to safeguard assets
  • Champion a culture of innovation, encouraging adoption of AI and digital tools.
  • Attract, develop, and retain outstanding Finance talent

Educational & Experiential Background:

  • Bachelor and/or Graduate degree in Business, Finance, or related fields
  • Additional professional qualification like CPA, CFA, CMA preferred
  • 15 years of work experience in Finance
  • 7 years of Management experience
  • Strong product costing and manufacturing finance knowledge
  • A highly metrics-driven individual with strong analytical abilities
  • Excellent financial and business acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong aptitude for risk assessment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, prioritization skills, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate ability to understand and solve complex problems
  • Experience in leading, coaching & developing a high performing team
