About the Digital Education Council

The Digital Education Council (DEC) is a global community of practice of institutions spanning six continents. The Council is committed to driving sustainable innovation and AI adoption in Education and Workforce Development. Member institutions of the Digital Education Council represent a globally diverse and strategically balanced mix of research universities, business schools, polytechnics, liberal arts colleges, and community colleges.

Collectively, they serve over 2.5 million students and employ more than 250,000 faculty and staff from a wide range of disciplines, making DEC one of the most globally representative alliances in education. DEC now counts over 180 member institutions.

The Job

We are seeking a Global Marketing and Events Intern to support DEC's digital communications and member engagement efforts. The role focuses on creating clear, well-crafted digital content, shaping member touchpoints, and contributing to the overall engagement experience of our global membership. As we grow, you may have the opportunity to rapidly advance inside an organisation with true global reach.

You will report to the Global Marketing and Communications Lead and work closely with the CEO and President of DEC and also with our colleagues in Europe.

We are looking for interns for two periods:

  1. Summer Internship: May to August 2026 (full-time role)
  2. Off-cycle Internship: August to December 2026 (full-time role, open to those who can commit to at least 3 days a week)

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the preparation and delivery of DEC's global and regional leadership summits, including coordinating event communications, preparing promotional materials, managing attendee-facing content, and contributing to the overall delegate experience from pre-event through to post-event follow-up
  • Design high-quality digital content, including social media visuals, captions, short videos and blog posts
  • Monitor engagement and digital performance metrics to inform improvements in marketing and communication strategies
  • Support onboarding of new member institutions by preparing onboarding materials and contributing to the design of clear, structured digital touchpoints across the member experience
  • Manage and update website content to ensure accuracy, coherence and a premium experience for users
