As an Analyst in Equity Capital Markets (ECM), you will participate in the full transaction execution cycle, with the scope of work including but not limited to preparing pitch materials, conducting research, drafting various client presentations for active transactions, and preparing internal memoranda for senior bankers and committees.
You will be expected to have strong functional skills in the major areas of investment banking and demonstrate your ability to work with other partners within the line of business, such as country coverage and industry teams. The candidate should also be highly enthusiastic about their work as well as J.P. Morgan's products and be committed to J.P. Morgan's values and mission.
You will join the global investment banking analyst program, along with over 100 analysts across regions and teams, which will offer you opportunities to build a network and learn to be a professional at a world's top-tier global investment bank.
Job responsibilities
. Support the origination and execution of the ECM business across various types of equity offerings, including but not limited to IPOs, private placements, and block trades.
. Work with various teams within the organization on all matters pertaining to the origination and execution of ECM transactions, including investment banking coverage teams and equity syndicate, sales, and trading, to stay abreast of the latest market developments and investor sentiment.
. Prepare pitch and marketing materials and client presentations for active transactions.
. Run ad hoc, daily, and weekly analysis and research on economies, global equity markets, industries, companies, and products to support ECM execution and origination, including forming views on key themes and opportunities.
. Provide additional support to the Investment Banking and ECM businesses as needed.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance/Economics or a related field from a top-tier educational institution.
. Minimum 1 years of work experience in an investment banking front office role.
. Strong understanding of equity markets and equity products, as well as transaction cycles.
. Good knowledge of accounting and finance.
. Ability to work effectively under high pressure and multitask.
. Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
. Outstanding attention to detail, team player, effective communication skills, and strong initiative to work independently.
