Job Description

The Global Head of Fleet Management will have a clear vision, set the standards, the ambition and operationalize and scale globally through exceptional leadership capability. The Global Head of Fleet Management responsibilities include developing key operational strategies across the fleet and dry docking efforts globally and deliver the strategies through the team and associated action plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the strategic planning and management of the global fleet operations.
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and safety standards.
  • Optimize fleet performance and efficiency through data analysis and reporting.
  • Lead decarbonization efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish operational best practices.
  • Develop and manage the fleet budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Lead and mentor a team of fleet management professionals across various regions.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers for fleet maintenance.
  • Monitor and assess fleet condition, implementing proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Drive initiatives for fleet modernization and the adoption of green technologies.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on fleet performance and strategic direction.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • MUST have experience in large fleet management of at least 70 vessels.
  • MUST have experience with duel-fuel vessels.
  • MUST have marine procurement expertise (dry docking + suppliers)
  • MUST have experience overseeing newbuild construction/sea trials.
  • MUST have experience managing marine personnel.
  • MUST have experience in bunkering/marine fuel department (purchasing).

  • BONUS skill but not requirement is to have digitization / digital transformation experience.

  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams globally.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ideally from an owner/operator but accepting of candidates from ship management agencies.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and data analysis tools.
  • Experience in sustainable practices and innovation in fleet operations.
