Our client is an international Digital Asset platform, the CEO is hiring an experienced Settlement Director to lead and strengthen their global settlement operations. This is a leadership role managing an established team, upgrading governance and controls, and driving modernization to reduce manual work through automation and system enhancements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the global settlements function, covering trade settlement, deposits, and withdrawals across multiple asset classes.
- Strengthen governance, risk, controls, and compliance frameworks in line with industry best practices.
- Review end-to-end workflows, identify gaps, and drive process re-engineering, automation, and system improvements to reduce operational risk and manual touchpoints.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex settlement breaks and time-sensitive incidents; coordinate resolution with Treasury, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and external partners (banks, custodians, vendors).
- Produce clear operational reporting (KPIs, incidents, reconciliations, control metrics) and provide leadership to develop team capability and performance.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support scalable operations across global markets and evolving products.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in settlement / operations, including leadership exposure within large financial institutions (or equivalent scale/complexity)
- Strong track record in governance, risk management, and control frameworks, with hands-on experience delivering process improvement and automation
- Solid knowledge of settlement practices across FX, securities, and/or digital assets
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Fluent in Mandarin and English
