Our client is a global technology manufacturer seeking an experienced procurement leader to drive the global sourcing strategy for interconnect technologies. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing supplier partnerships, commodity strategies, commercial negotiations, and cost optimization across a global supply network.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in connectors, high-speed cable assemblies, fibre optic solutions, and next-generation interconnect technologies supporting AI infrastructure, networking, data centres, and advanced electronics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the global sourcing strategy for interconnect commodities, including connectors, cable assemblies, fibre optics and high-speed connectivity solutions.
- Build long-term strategic relationships with global connector manufacturers and key supply partners.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations covering pricing, contracts, capacity planning and supply continuity.
- Drive supplier performance, cost reduction initiatives and risk mitigation across the global supply chain.
- Partner closely with engineering, product development and quality teams to support new product introductions and technology roadmaps.
- Utilise should-cost methodologies and market intelligence to identify value creation opportunities.
- Lead and mentor a global commodity management team while establishing sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
Requirements:
- 10+ years experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management or procurement within the electronics, interconnect or high-technology industries.
- Strong knowledge of connector technologies, cable assemblies, fibre optics and high-speed interconnect solutions.
- Experience working with leading connector manufacturers and distributors.
- Familiarity with advanced interconnect technologies, including high-speed data transmission (112G/224G), AI server infrastructure or data centre connectivity is highly desirable.
- Proven success negotiating global supplier agreements and managing strategic supplier relationships.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse cost structures and drive continuous cost improvements.
- Experience leading regional or global procurement teams within a multinational organisation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
