Global Client Director - Social Media & Short-Form Video Agency
A fast-growing, award-winning creative agency specialising in short-form video and social content is seeking an exceptional Global Client Director to lead relationships with some of the world's most recognised brands. This is a senior leadership role sitting at the intersection of client strategy, commercial growth, and team development, reporting directly to the CEO.
The Role
You'll be the bridge between clients and creative teams, setting the standard for how the agency delivers strategic value and measurable results. You'll oversee a portfolio of key global accounts, lead a client services team, and play an active role in driving agency-wide growth and innovation across international markets.
Responsibilities
Client Leadership
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships, acting as a trusted strategic advisor to global brand clients
- Translate client objectives into actionable marketing, content, and social video strategies
- Anticipate client needs and present proactive recommendations that add measurable business value
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships across multiple geographies and handle escalations with diplomacy and clarity
Commercial Growth
- Own revenue and retention targets across your portfolio
- Identify and pursue upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities — linking new initiatives to clear business outcomes
- Oversee proposals, contracts, and scopes of work to ensure commercial accuracy and delivery feasibility
- Partner with creative and strategy teams to design compelling growth plans for international markets
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the client service team
- Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and create growth pathways
- Champion cross-departmental collaboration for seamless project execution across time zones and markets
Operational Excellence
- Implement systems and processes that maintain consistency, quality, and profitability across accounts
- Oversee client satisfaction programs and feedback loops to continuously improve delivery standards
- Ensure all work meets the agency's creative and strategic benchmarks across diverse markets
Strategic Planning
- Use data and insights to inform client strategy, optimise campaigns, and drive measurable outcomes
- Participate in quarterly and annual business reviews
- Contribute to agency-wide strategic planning and international expansion initiatives
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years in client leadership roles within a creative agency, publisher, media, or marketing environment
- Proven track record managing global clients and multi-market campaigns — experience working with Australian-based clients or within the Australian market is strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of social media, particularly short-form video, UGC, and EGC, and what makes content perform across different markets
- An international growth mindset, you think in markets, not territories, and you're energised by the complexity of scaling client relationships across regions
- Comfortable navigating cultural nuances and adapting communication and strategy for diverse international audiences
- Strong commercial acumen: forecasting, profitability, pricing models, and account growth
- Skilled in upselling and negotiation, with a track record of driving revenue while strengthening partnerships
- Exceptional communicator, confident in CEO-level and senior stakeholder conversations across geographies
- Collaborative leader with a genuine passion for mentoring and developing talent
