Role Overview
We are looking for an International Business Development professional with strong global exposure and a solid technology background to drive Z.ai's expansion in the ASEAN market. This role will focus on acquiring and managing Key Account (KA) clients across ASEAN, as well as major API clients based in Singapore, working closely with internal product, solution and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, source, and develop Key Account enterprise clients across the ASEAN region
- Drive adoption of Z.ai's LLM, API and GenAI solutions among major developers, startups and enterprises in Singapore
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, technical leaders, and ecosystem partners
- Lead end-to-end business development activities, including opportunity discovery, solution positioning, commercial negotiation and deal closure
- Work cross-functionally with product, engineering and delivery teams to align client needs with Z.ai's AI roadmap
- Monitor regional AI, cloud and developer ecosystem trends to inform market strategy
- Represent Z.ai at international events, conferences and partner engagements when required
Qualifications
- 25 years of experience in business development, partnerships, consulting or related roles
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time across the ASEAN region to support client engagement, partnerships, and market development
- Strong international mindset with exposure to cross-border or global business environments
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written); ability to communicate in Mandarin or additional ASEAN languages are a plus
- Educational background in Technology, AI, Computer Science Cloud Computing, Engineering or related fields
- Strong understanding of AI, large language models, cloud platforms or developer ecosystems is highly preferred
- Ability to engage both business and technical stakeholders confidently
- Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
This role carries a semi-annual (6-month) sales quota and will be evaluated based on the following KPIs:
- Revenue Achievement:
- Meet or exceed assigned semi-year sales quota, including enterprise contracts and API consumption revenue
- Key Account Development:
- Number and quality of new Key Account (KA) clients signed in the ASEAN region
- Expansion of revenue and usage within existing strategic accounts
- Pipeline Management:
- Healthy and sustainable sales pipeline coverage (e.g. 35 quota)
- Conversion rates from qualified leads to closed deals
- Strategic Market Impact:
- Successful entry into priority verticals (e.g. cloud partners, startups, large enterprises, government-linked entities)
- Contribution to ecosystem partnerships and strategic collaborations
