GIS Specialist / GIS-Focused Solution Architect

We are seeking an experienced GIS Specialist / GIS-Focused Solution Architect to

provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for enterprise geospatial

platforms and systems. In this role, you will support architecture design, cloud

migration, system upgrades, infrastructure modernisation, vendor management,

security reviews, troubleshooting, integration design, geospatial data management, and

operational support to ensure the reliability, scalability, and sustainability of enterprise

GIS services.

Key Responsibilities:

. Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for enterprise geospatial

platforms and related systems.

. Support architecture design, cloud migration, system upgrades, infrastructure

modernisation, and operational readiness activities.

. Plan and execute GIS platform upgrades, cloud migrations, system refreshes,

disaster recovery exercises, and infrastructure security initiatives.

. Evaluate and recommend technology solutions aligned with Government

technology directions, including cloud adoption, enterprise architecture

standards, cybersecurity requirements, secure-by-design frameworks, and

modernisation of legacy systems.

. Design and support cloud-native and hybrid GIS architectures on AWS, Azure,

GCC, or equivalent cloud platforms.

. Design GIS integration patterns, including REST APIs, web services, SFTP-based

data exchanges, authentication and identity management, and system-tosystem integrations.

. Manage geospatial data architectures, including geodatabases, spatial data

models, metadata management, data governance, and data lifecycle

management.

. Conduct technical assessments, solution reviews, sizing exercises, root cause

analysis, and troubleshooting of complex application and infrastructure issues.

. Work with vendors and service providers to manage system implementation,

upgrades, support, maintenance, and service delivery.

. Analyse business and technical requirements and develop practical, scalable,

and sustainable GIS solutions.

. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required

to support enterprise geospatial platforms, systems, and services.
