GIS Engineer

Job Description

• Able to design, develop, and maintain GIS applications by using ArcGIS product ecosystem, QGIS, GeoServer, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
• Understand and the classical 3-tier or 5-tier application architecture
• Understand the ArcGIS Enterprise architecture.
• Create and publish web services (map, feature, image) using ArcGIS Server or GeoServer.
• Develop custom tools, scripts, or plugins using Python or JavaScript.
• Can develope web GIS frontend application with at list one of JS frameworks, such as React, AngularJS, VUE and so on
• Integrate GIS services with external enterprise systems and web applications through APIs (REST, JavaScript).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver GIS solutions aligned with project needs.
• Able to design and manage spatial databases using one of popular DBMS, includes MS SQL , PostgreSQL, Oracle or other popular DBMS.
• Able to troubleshoot GIS-related issues and maintain system documentation.
• Provide technical support and training to users as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in GIS development or operations.
• Proficient with ArcGIS (Desktop, Pro, Enterprise), QGIS, and GeoServer.
• Strong SQL and spatial database skills.
• Experience with scripting (Python, Bash) and/or web development (JavaScript, HTML).
• Familiarity with GIS data formats (SHP, GeoJSON, KML, GDB, raster).
• Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and spatial analysis methods.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-based GIS deployments (e.g., AWS, Azure, ArcGIS Online).
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git).
• Able to travel to other countries (short-term).
