Job Description

The Company

My client is a US MNC and a leader in its industry. Keen to hire a hands-on and driven Payroll talent with strong team management and process improvement experience to oversee a regional payroll portfolio.

Requirements

  • Strong Regional payroll experience, with exposure in handling Asia countries such as China, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan and so on.
  • Payroll accounting experience is a must
  • Experience working with external payroll vendor required (payroll vendor management)
  • Good communication skills, driven, detailed, reliable, team player
  • Experience in driving process improvement and payroll projects
  • Proven team management skills, able to motivate and upskill the payroll team
  • Hands-on: willing to get hands dirty and handle payroll processing where required
  • Availability: Immediate or short notice preferred
  • US MNC experience can be highly advantageous

Budget

SGD 9,000 - 10,500 per month + 1 month completion bonus

Job Scope

  • Responsible for end to end payroll processing across Asia Pacific, maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure adherence to country-specific legislative obligations, tax remittance requirements, and benefits administration
  • Serve as internal expertise on regional payroll regulations and statutory frameworks
  • Act as key coordination point between finance, HR, employees, and government authorities
  • Oversee payroll accounting, journal entries, balance sheet reviews, and internal financial controls
  • Maintain governance frameworks and audit readiness for internal and external reviews
  • Ensure timely completion of system access certifications in line with compliance requirements
  • Manage external payroll service providers, holding vendors to agreed service standards and performance accountability
  • Lead vendor evaluation, contract renewals, and commercial negotiations to ensure terms remain fit for purpose
  • Develop and maintain standardised operating procedures and process documentation
  • Identify and implement cost optimisation opportunities across payroll operations, drive process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and improve efficiency
  • Support rollout and enhancement of payroll platforms, with focus on automation
  • Partner with global teams on system integration initiatives and regional finance transformation programmes
