Geotechnical Engineer

Job Responsibilities :

• Conduct and supervise geotechnical site investigations
• Analyze soil, rock and groundwater conditions for foundation design
• Interpret borehole logs, CPT data, SPT results and lab tests
• Design pile foundations (bored, driven, CFA, micro-piles, etc.) based on soil conditions
• Prepare geotechnical reports and foundation recommendations
• Provide technical input to tender documents and method statements
• Supervise piling operations to ensure compliance with design
• Recommend pile testing programmes (for example: static load tests, PDA tests, integrity tests)
• Troubleshoot ground-related construction issues (for example: pile refusal, unexpected strata)
• Liaise with structural engineers, project managers and contractors
• Ensure integration of geotechnical data into overall project design
• Participate in design review meetings and technical discussions
• Ensure geotechnical works comply with HSE standards and local regulations
• Conduct risk assessments for geotechnical activities
• Maintain accurate records of geotechnical parameters and construction activities
• Perform quality control checks on pile construction and testing

Job Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably in the piling or deep foundation sector
• Familiar with site investigation methods and pile foundation design
• Proficient in geotechnical software: PLAXIS, LPILE, Settle3, GeoStudio, SAFE, etc.
• Knowledge of relevant design codes (for example: Eurocode 7, BS 8004, ACI, IS codes, or local standards).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good project management and time management capabilities
