Team Introduction The Procurement Team plays a critical role in the business by managing the strategic design and execution of end-to-end processes for acquiring goods and services sustainably and in compliance with business standards. We oversee sourcing and onboarding vendors, optimizing key company systems and processes, maintaining a strategic outlook on procurement activities, and ensuring all contracts meet legal, project, and business requirements. We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Regional Procurement Specialist/Manager to oversee procurement requests across the APAC region (or may extend to other regions on global level). The core and priority focus of this role will be Category Management for Catering Services-specifically covering food and beverage-related needs for our employees, including (but not limited to) catering, kitchen operations, and pantry services. This category management remit includes end-to-end strategic sourcing and supplier lifecycle management. Experience or interest in additional procurement categories (e.g., Construction, Facility Management, Physical Security, HR Services, and Customized Goods) will be a valuable asset. In this position, the individual will collaborate with members of the cross-regional and functional teams to develop compelling procurement solutions that directly impact business performance and increase market competitiveness. Ideal candidates should be able to communicate effectively with business units and establish constructive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate is expected to be a strong communicator and influencer, with the ability to cooperate concisely and effectively with multiple stakeholders to drive innovation and changes. - Category Management: Develop and implement category strategies for catering services, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational requirements. - Vendor Sourcing and Management: Identify, onboard, and manage vendors to build a qualified supplier pool. Lead sourcing initiatives, including RFX, contract negotiation, and partnership management. - Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to business units such as Food Services, Real Estate, Finance, fostering constructive relationships and a deep understanding of their needs. - Program Standardization: Lead efforts to develop standardized procurement programs across regions to optimize costs, improve lead times, and enhance operational consistency. - Procurement Operations: Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including contract execution, tracking project deliverables, and ensuring compliance with ByteDance's policies and standards. - Cross-Regional Coordination: Collaborate with global and regional partners to identify best practices, align strategies, and determine when initiatives should expand globally. - Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and monitor supplier performance to ensure reliability, mitigate disruptions, and align with business goals.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. - Experience in procurement within indirect categories. - Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop category intelligence, analyze supply markets, and create data-driven procurement strategies. - Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, navigate ambiguity, and build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. - Communication Excellence: Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex customer needs into actionable procurement plans. - Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. - 5 years of experience in procurement within indirect categories. - Experience in sourcing and managing Catering Services or other General Services categories (e.g., Construction, Facility Management, Catering, Physical Security, HR Services, and Customized Goods). - Global Perspective: Familiarity with global procurement practices and the ability to provide region-specific recommendations. - Relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS)
