The Master Painter is a highly skilled professional responsible for overseeing all painting and finishing works on construction projects. This role involves supervising painting teams, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and applying advanced painting techniques and coatings. The Master Painter plays a key role in maintaining project standards, safety compliance, and timely completion of works.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of painters on-site
- Plan, assign, and coordinate daily painting activities according to project schedules
- Inspect surfaces and determine appropriate preparation and finishing methods
- Apply advanced coatings, including protective, decorative, and industrial finishes
- Ensure proper surface preparation (cleaning, sanding, priming, sealing, etc.)
- Monitor quality of work and carry out inspections to meet project specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve painting defects or technical issues
- Liaise with site supervisors, contractors, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations
- Train and mentor junior painters and new workers
- Maintain inventory of materials, tools, and equipment
- Prepare reports on progress, quality, and material usage
