About the role

As the Transport General Manager at Jokia Private Limited, you are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's transport operations, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and high service standards.

What you'll be doing

. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement long-term transport and logistics strategies aligned with company goals
  • Drive business growth, profitability, and operational excellence
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion

2. Operations Management

  • Oversee daily transport operations including fleet management, routing, and scheduling
  • Ensure timely and efficient delivery performance (e.g., last-mile, line-haul, COD deliveries)
  • Monitor KPIs such as delivery success rate, turnaround time, and cost per trip

3. Fleet & Asset Management

  • Manage company vehicles, maintenance schedules, and utilization rates
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and licensing requirements
  • Optimize fleet usage to reduce downtime and operational costs

4. Financial & Cost Control

  • Prepare and manage transport budgets and forecasts
  • Control operational costs (fuel, maintenance, manpower)
  • Improve profitability through cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements

5. Team Leadership & HR Management

  • Lead, train, and manage drivers, supervisors, and operations staff
  • Set performance targets and conduct regular evaluations
  • Ensure proper manpower planning and staff discipline

6. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with local transport regulations and company policies
  • Enforce safety standards and reduce accidents/incidents
  • Handle audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements

7. Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Handle escalations, complaints, and service improvements
  • Ensure high service quality and customer satisfaction

8. Systems & Technology

  • Oversee the use of Transport Management Systems (TMS)
  • Improve operational efficiency through automation and data analysis
  • Ensure accurate reporting and performance tracking

9. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Prepare management reports on operations, financials, and KPIs
  • Analyze data to identify gaps and improvement areas
  • Present performance updates to senior management
