. Supervise and coordinate theday-to-day operation of vessels through the Senior Superintendent /Superintendents.

. Supervise revisions to drawingsand technical documents as required.

. Verify that incoming reportsfrom the vessels are analyzed and attended as required.

. Prepare routine technicalreports and forward them to management as required by them.

. Closely monitor the commercialperformance of all the vessels with regard to Charter party requirements.Identify reasons for deviation if any and implement remedial measures.

. Ensure that at all times theClassification and Statutory survey status is maintained for all the vesselsand that all surveys are carried out within due dates and that all tradingcertificates are valid.

. Keep abreast with allregulatory requirements as updated and keep the Senior Superintendent /Superintendents suitably informed.

. Plan and monitor periodicalinspection of the vessels and review the reports.

. Review and finalize repairspecifications prepared by Senior Superintendent / Superintendents and followup same.

. Promptly act to take correctivemeasures when any problem is reported by the Master, Quality & SafetyDepartment or Senior Superintendent / Superintendent concerning ship'sseaworthiness, safety and pollution and to keep the Managing Director informed.

. Report defects/damage/accidentsto authorities/ class (when required).

. Prepare the operating costbudgets of vessels along with the Senior Superintendent / Superintendentkeeping in mind the latest statutory, governmental, and port regulations, andsubmit to the COO for approval.

. Coordinate with Crew Departmentwith regard to the assignment of staff to vessels as well as their performanceon board.

. Carry out vessel inspectionsand/or attend dry-docking as directed by the COO and prepare inspection report.

. Submit planned docking costswith a breakdown of expenses to the management. On completing of the docking,approval of the final invoice is to be done by the COO.

. Deal with contingencies asdefined in Element 11 of SMS.
