Manage commodities derivatives and physical trading businesses across the Asia region and the Middle East as Singapore Branch General Manager.
Launching new branch for physical trading business in Singapore.
Responsible for developing and executing 1-3 year business plans, and internal applications such as market risk limits, credit risk limits, and ISDA documentation.
Responsible for regulatory and compliance matters, including AML, PSPM, MAS regulations, audited financial statements, tax filings, and transfer pricing documentation, in accordance with SCGC and Sumitomo Corporation (SC) internal policies.
Assume management responsibility for SCGC, including oversight of UK operations, covering not only front-office activities but also cross-functional departments, as a member of the SCGC Board.
Monitor and quantify commodity market risks using methodologies such as Value at Risk (VaR), Greeks, and other relevant risk metrics.
Conduct financial analysis and implement risk mitigation solutions, including credit risk management tools such as Credit Support Annexes (CSA).
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, including UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR), and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) requirements.
Lead collaboration with offices in the UK, US, and Japan to build and manage a global trading book, and work closely with other Sumitomo Corporation departments to enhance physical commodity trading activities.
Requirements:
Minimum Degree, with at least 20 years of expeience in trading commodities derivatives.
Proven experience leading commodity trading teams of 10 or more members.
Demonstrated experience in establishing and launching commodity trading organizations or branches.
Possess basic knowledge of accounting, finance (including derivatives), and relevant legal matters.
Strong ability to build networks and collaborate effectively across organizations within Sumitomo Corporation Group.
