Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the heavy transportation and haulage industry, including regulations, market dynamics, and key players.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the company's footprint in heavy transportation and haulage services within the region.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with clients requiring heavy transportation and haulage services, including large-scale projects and long-term contracts.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key industry partners, subcontractors, and suppliers to enhance service offerings and capabilities.
  • Lead a team of business development professionals specialized in heavy transportation and haulage, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities in the heavy transportation sector.
  • Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies, pricing optimization, and contract negotiations in the heavy transportation and haulage space.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices in heavy transportation and haulage operations.
  • Develop and manage budgets for business development activities, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining profitability.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, performance metrics, and key performance indicators related to heavy transportation and haulage operations.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

  • Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in heavy transportation, haulage, logistics, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales leadership, and client acquisition within the heavy transport sector.
  • Familiarity with equipment and fleet capabilities (e.g., hydraulic modular trailers, multi-axle transporters, cranes).
  • Willing to travel locally and regionally for client visits and site meetings.
  • Strong market analysis, research, and reporting skills to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
