We are partnering with a leading global biotech and pharmaceutical company specializing in medicines and medical devices.
As the General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the company's strategic planning, business operations, and team leadership in Singapore, with an eye toward expansion across Southeast Asia. You will drive the R&D, regulatory registration, market access, and commercialization of pharmaceutical and medical device products for international markets.
Job Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and execute long-term growth strategies for Singapore and target markets, including pipeline expansion, market penetration, and revenue growth.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory policies, and competitive dynamics; adjust strategies to respond to market changes and capture emerging opportunities.
2. End-to-End Business Operations Management
- Lead core functions including R&D, sales, marketing, and regulatory affairs, ensuring strong cross-functional collaboration and achievement of annual business targets.
- Oversee medical device product development and ensure compliance with Singapore HSA and international regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, CE), driving product registration and market launch.
- Optimize cost structures, improve operational efficiency, manage budgets and resource allocation, and maximize profitability.
3. Team Leadership & Development
- Build and develop a high-performing management team, defining clear responsibilities and performance metrics.
- Foster a corporate culture centered on innovation, compliance, and customer focus, motivating employees to grow alongside the company.
4. External Relations & Partnerships
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities (e.g., HSA), healthcare institutions, industry associations, and strategic partners to ensure compliance and expand collaboration opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, business negotiations, and public affairs engagements to enhance brand visibility and influence.
5. Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with Singapore and international medical device regulations (e.g., GMP, ISO 13485), data privacy laws (PDPA), and internal policies.
- Identify and manage key business risks, including market, R&D, and compliance risks, and oversee the implementation of mitigation strategies.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Business, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of management experience in the Biotech/ Healthcare/Life sciences industry, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles (e.g., General Manager, Deputy GM, Business Unit Head).
- Proven experience in biomedical product R&D, regulatory registration, and/or commercialization, with a strong understanding of the full product lifecycle from development to market launch.
- Prior experience with Singapore-based pharmaceutical or medical device companies is highly preferred, and familiarity with HSA regulations is an advantage.
