Job Description

This executive search is being conducted by Hospitality.SG, a specialist executive search and advisory firm focused exclusively on the hospitality, F&B, and luxury lifestyle sectors. On behalf of our client, a flagship 5-star luxury hotel in Singapore operated under one of the worlds leading international hotel brands, we are seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead the property into its next phase of growth and excellence.

Position Summary

The General Manager is the chief executive officer of the hotel, responsible for every aspect of the propertys performance - from financial outcomes and guest satisfaction to team culture, brand compliance, and long-term asset value. The role requires a dynamic, globally experienced leader with a deep understanding of luxury hospitality, a proven ability to deliver commercial results, and the vision to keep the property positioned as one of Singapores top destinations for both business and leisure travellers.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and hands-on operator, skilled at balancing corporate brand requirements with the expectations of ownership, while also adapting to Singapores highly competitive hospitality market.

Core Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

  • Lead the creation and execution of the hotels annual business plan, aligning with brand objectives and ownerships financial goals.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, guest expectations, and competitor performance to anticipate opportunities and threats.
  • Drive innovation across guest experiences, digital engagement, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead commercial strategies across Rooms, F&B, Spa/Wellness, and Events to maximize RevPAR, ADR, and market share.

2. Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Uphold uncompromising standards of luxury service across all guest touchpoints.
  • Champion personalization, anticipating guest needs and creating memorable experiences that drive loyalty.
  • Ensure the hotel consistently achieves outstanding guest satisfaction scores and maintains an excellent online reputation.
  • Actively engage with VIPs, long-stay guests, and brand-loyal travelers, reinforcing the propertys positioning as a flagship destination.

3. Operational Excellence

  • Direct the hotels daily operations across all divisions, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Establish and maintain best-in-class SOPs in line with brand and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapores laws and regulations covering employment, safety, health, and security.
  • Oversee capital expenditure, renovations, and asset improvement projects, ensuring the property remains competitive and pristine.

4. Financial & Commercial Management

  • Take full P&L ownership for the property.
  • Oversee budget preparation, forecasting, and financial reporting to both corporate and ownership stakeholders.
  • Optimize costs without compromising luxury service delivery.
  • Maximize revenues across all outlets through creative programming, dynamic pricing, and cross-selling strategies.

5. People Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, inspire, and mentor a diverse, multicultural workforce in Singapore.
  • Build a strong executive committee and ensure succession pipelines are in place.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and guest-centric service.
  • Drive learning, development, and recognition programs, ensuring the hotel is recognized as an employer of choice.

6. Owner & Stakeholder Relations

  • Act as the principal representative of the property to ownership, maintaining transparent and productive relationships.
  • Provide accurate reporting, insightful business reviews, and strategic recommendations to owners.
  • Ensure alignment between ownership objectives and brand standards to maximize asset value.
  • Represent the hotel in Singapores tourism, business, and governmental forums, strengthening its reputation and influence.

Candidate Profile

Education & Background

  • Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline (MBA preferred).
  • 1520 years of international hospitality experience, with at least 5 years as General Manager of a 5-star luxury hotel in a major global city.
  • Demonstrated success in financial management, owner relations, and global brand compliance.
  • Strong familiarity with Singapores hospitality market is highly desirable.
  • Experience within structured, global hotel groups is a significant advantage.
