General Manager, Finance Business Partners

Role Purpose (Why do we need this role)

Lead executive finance business partnering by providing the Executive Leadership Team with strategic planning, commercial insight and decision support enabled by robust financial reporting, forward-looking analysis and clear performance narratives that support high-quality decision-making.

As part of the end-to-end Record to Report workstream, the role ensures strong alignment between business performance, reporting integrity and governance by partnering closely with controllership to deliver accurate insight, consistent financial messages and effective support for enterprise planning and accountability.

Role Accountabilities (What is this role responsible for delivering)

Executive Finance Business Partnership

• Serve as a trusted finance partner to the Executive Leadership Team, providing financial insight, challenge and support on strategic and operational decisions.
• Partner with business leaders to understand commercial drivers, risks and opportunities, and translate these into actionable financial recommendations.
• Lead business performance discussions with ELT, bringing clarity on trends, key drivers, trade-offs and actions required to deliver financial outcomes.
• Shape financial narratives and presentations for executive forums, ensuring recommendations are commercially grounded and data-led.
• Build strong relationships across functions to improve financial accountability, performance ownership and quality of decision-making.

FP&A and Performance Management

• Lead the budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting process, ensuring financial plans reflect strategic priorities, business assumptions and operational realities.
• Develop forward-looking financial models, scenarios and sensitivities to support planning, target setting and resource allocation.
• Monitor performance against budget, forecast and strategic goals, identifying variances, root causes and actions to improve outcomes.
• Design and enhance management reporting and KPI frameworks to improve visibility of business performance and decision support.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, reporting cadence and analytical capability across the finance business partnering team.

Strategic Planning and Decision Support

• Support strategic planning cycles by translating business strategies into long-range financial plans, investment priorities and value creation initiatives.
• Provide financial evaluation of strategic initiatives, business cases, pricing decisions and investment proposals to support prioritisation and capital allocation.
• Identify risks and opportunities in forward plans and recommend interventions to protect performance and support growth ambitions.
• Use scenario planning and financial analysis to support executive decisions in a dynamic operating environment.
• Ensure strategic plans are supported by credible financial assumptions, clear milestones and measurable performance outcomes.

Collaboration with Financial Controller Pillar & Governance

• Work closely with the Financial Controller pillar to align planning, forecasting and performance analysis with actuals, accounting treatment and financial governance requirements.
• Ensure consistent planning assumptions, data definitions and reporting logic across finance business partnering and controllership activities.
• Promote strong governance over planning processes, model integrity, assumptions management and management reporting outputs.
• Support the end-to-end Record to Report workstream by ensuring business partnering activities align with reporting timelines, data quality, governance standards and close processes, in close collaboration with the Financial Controller pillar.
• Lead and develop the finance business partnering team to build commercial acumen, analytical strength and influence across the organisation.

Crisis Management

• Make every effort to be aware of and understand your role in the event of a crisis.
• Make every effort to attend any relevant training, simulations and or meetings relating to Crisis Management.
• Perform your role as best as possible in a calm and collaborative manner in line with the relevant policy and procedures in the event of a Crisis.
• Provide input and feedback towards the ongoing improvement of the Crisis Management framework and procedure.

Key Qualifications & Skills (What knowledge will ensure success in the role)

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline, with approximately 15+ years of relevant experience, including substantial senior leadership experience in finance business partnering, FP&A or commercial finance leadership roles.

Technical Skills

• Strong FP&A capability including budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, financial modelling, scenario analysis, management reporting and KPI development; able to work effectively with financial reporting and controllership teams and leverage ERP and planning tools.

Professional Skills

• Commercially minded and highly influential leader with strong communication, stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking and analytical judgement, able to partner credibly with senior executives and turn financial insight into action.
