Job Description

This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the Factory Automation and Industrial Division. The General Manager is accountable for driving business performance, improving operational efficiency, and increasing profitability while ensuring strong alignment with corporate direction and Japan Headquarters.

The role requires close collaboration and regular reporting to HQ in Japan, as well as leadership across multiple functions within the division.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Develop and execute commercial and operational strategies to achieve divisional business objectives.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies, and translate insights into effective growth initiatives.
  • Drive revenue growth and profitability through disciplined execution and continuous improvement initiatives.

Change Management & Operational Excellence

  • Lead and drive change management initiatives using structured methodologies.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies, processes, and tools to support organizational adoption and transformation.
  • Improve operational efficiency, productivity, and cost effectiveness across the division.

Customer & Market Leadership

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
  • Ensure products and services meet customer requirements through regular engagement, including customer meetings, business reviews, sales events, factory visits, and executive-level interactions.

People & Organization Leadership

  • Oversee department heads and senior managers, providing mentoring, coaching, and leadership development.
  • Build a high-performance culture aligned with company values and business objectives.

Governance & HQ Collaboration

  • Ensure divisional operations comply with company policies and regulations, including compliance, accounting, manpower, and environmental requirements.
  • Participate in and contribute to key decision-making meetings with Japan Headquarters, factories, and internal departments.
  • Ensure alignment between divisional activities and overall company direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in the factory automation industry, with proven leadership responsibility.
  • Strong strategic, leadership, communication, and negotiation skills in a multicultural environment.
  • High proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written), required for direct reporting and close collaboration with Japan Headquarters.
