Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • As the General Manager, you will be leading the senior leadership team for company roadmap development and implementation, which including performance management goals for the organisation
  • Provide strategic deliverables of agreed agenda for clients, and establishing strong corporate and control functions in the areas of Finance and budgeting, HR, Legal and Compliance, Project Management, Business Services and System Security.
  • Provide strategic direction, leadership and management of system development and operational activities ensuring the outcomes are aligned with client's requirements.
  • With support from deputy managers, developing a cost-savings and digitalisation strategy is part of the role
  • Establish a culture of high performance and values throughout the organisation
  • Provide guidance to senior leadership team members and help them achieve their individual function priorities. Oversee the hiring, training and coaching of senior level managers
  • Engage with senior internal and external stakeholders, provide support to cross-functional projects and steer diverse workforce groups towards shared outcomes

Job requirements:
  • Good bachelor or related degree in IT, Finance, Science, Economics or Commerce with min. 15 years of work experience in the banking/FI sector
  • Min. 10 years experience in a regional leadership and strategic planning role
  • Experience in managing and supervising multi-level teams (200 and above).
  • International experience, with career stints in overseas markets
  • Knowledge and experience in managing banking system which is more than SGD500 million project
  • Knowledge and experience in Core banking system (Accounting, Remittance, Forex, Money market, GL and MIS)
  • Preferably have direct E2E experience and exposure to managing IT and operations functions of financial institutions.
  • Knowledge and experience in software development life cycle, change management, service delivery management and vendor management.
  • Project management skills.
  • Good understanding of control functions such as Finance, HR and Compliance
  • Strong organization, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem and conflict management skills.
  • Strong stakeholders management skills across diverse workforce segments and Asia markets
  • Proficiency in both English and Japanese is highly preferred as this role needs to prepare reports in Japanese for reporting to Head Office in Japan. This role also needs to present and communicate with senior stakeholders who mainly communicate in Japanese
