We are working with a leading main contractor is seeking a General Manager to take full ownership of project delivery across its building and civil infrastructure portfolio. This is a senior leadership role with accountability for operational performance, project execution, and team leadership across multiple large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee end-to-end delivery of major building and civil infrastructure projects (public and private sector)
- Drive operational strategy, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards
- Manage a portfolio of projects, providing direction to Project Directors, Project Managers, and site teams
- Take full ownership of P&L, including budgeting, cost control, and margin optimisation
- Strengthen project management frameworks, governance, and reporting structures
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, authority requirements, and company standards
- Engage and manage key stakeholders including government agencies, consultants, and clients
- Provide strategic input into tendering, bid strategy, and pre-construction planning
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Build, mentor, and retain high-performing teams to support business growth
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- 18–25 years experience with established A1 main contractors in Singapore
- Proven track record delivering large-scale projects
- Strong experience managing multiple projects concurrently with full P&L responsibility
- In-depth knowledge of Singapore construction regulations, authorities, and compliance requirements
- Established relationships with key clients and government agencies preferred
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial acumen
- Experience across both building or civil/infrastructure projects
- Background in leading large project teams and senior management structures
- Track record in improving operational efficiency and driving business performance
