Role Overview
We are seeking a Game Designer with strong quantitative expertise to architect high-performance digital game systems grounded in probability theory, controlled randomness, and economic balance.
This role requires the ability to design mechanics that operate on deterministic mathematical frameworks driven by RNG logic. The ideal candidate can independently draft and simulate core models before engineering implementation.
This is not a theme-only design role. The position demands ownership of both creative systems and underlying probabilistic structure.
Key Responsibilities
1. Game System Architecture
- Design full game structures and core interaction loops
- Define progression systems, reward mechanics, and feature triggers
- Balance player engagement with long-term sustainability objectives
- Architect scalable configurations adaptable to different commercial requirements
2. Mathematical Modeling & Simulation
- Create preliminary mathematical models
- Design systems built on Random Number Generator (RNG) frameworks
- Define expected value (EV) breakdown across game components
- Model trigger frequencies, reward distributions, and variance profiles
- Conduct large-sample simulations to stress test balance assumptions
- Evaluate payout distributions across different configuration tiers
3. Economic & Balance Strategy
- Understand and model configurable return bands
- Adjust mechanics based on margin and player behaviour targets
- Collaborate with engineering to finalize production-ready models
- Optimize volatility / variance profiles to align with different player segments
4. Data-Driven Optimization
- Analyze post-launch performance metrics
- Identify balance refinements based on engagement and revenue signals
- Conduct competitive benchmarking and reverse-engineering analysis
- Iterate rapidly to improve retention and session depth
5. Documentation & Cross-Team Collaboration
- Produce detailed system design documentation
- Provide logic breakdowns and weight tables
- Define edge-case handling and exception rules
- Support QA and analytics teams with mathematical clarifications
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of probability, expected value, and variance
- Practical understanding of RNG-based system design
- Experience designing configurable economic systems
- Advanced Excel or modeling proficiency
- Ability to simulate large sample outcomes independently
- Clear understanding of how mathematical structure impacts long-term engagement and monetization
- Experience collaborating with engineers and analysts
- AI-assisted workflow familiarity
