About the Team The Global Payment team of ByteDance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok. Within Global Payment, the FX team is responsible for FX solutions and FX platform capabilities across quotation, exposure management, trading execution, hedging, partner management, and FX risk controls. The team works closely with product, tech, data engineering, and business teams to develop systematic and automated FX capabilities for complex global payment scenarios. Role Overview We are looking for an FX Solutions & Risk Management Manager to support the design and execution of FX solutions for global payment businesses. This role is not a pure FX trading role. The ideal candidate should combine hands-on FX market experience with strong understanding of payment business scenarios, client needs, FX lifecycle management, and platform-based risk control. The role will cover quotation strategy, exposure identification and monitoring, trading and hedging execution, post-trade review, partner management, and system capability building. The successful candidate should be able to translate business needs into practical FX solutions, work with external financial institutions and internal stakeholders, and contribute to scalable FX risk management frameworks. Responsibilities 1. Focus on end to end FX risk management among FX businesses in the Fintech Payment industry, from solution, quotation, exposure, trading, hedging, and P/L results 2. Contribute to FX solutions to meet payment business solutions, by delivering FX trading, quotation, and risk management measures as well as system development requirements 3. Identify, measure, monitor, and manage FX exposures across payment flows, and help build scalable mechanisms for exposure aggregation, risk alerts, and hedging decisions. 4. Execute and optimize FX trading and hedging strategies with external banks, PSPs, and liquidity partners, with the objective of reducing trading cost and improving execution quality. 5. Manage relationships with FX counterparties, including banks and other financial institutions, and evaluate external FX products, liquidity, pricing, credit, and operational arrangements. 6. Work closely with product and tech teams to translate FX business requirements into in-house system capabilities, including quotation engines, exposure dashboards, trading workflows, risk controls, and automation tools. 7. Establish and improve FX risk management policies, procedures, monitoring metrics, and post-trade review mechanisms to support FX gain/loss management objectives. 8. Partner with internal business teams to understand payment business models, customer requirements, regional constraints, and operational pain points, then provide practical FX recommendations. 9. Support cross-functional initiatives involving treasury, finance, compliance, risk, accounting, settlement, and reconciliation teams.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: 1. 5+ years of experience in FX, treasury, payments, fintech, banking, or related financial services roles. 2. Hands-on experience in FX lifecycle management, including at least several of the following areas: FX solutions, quotation/pricing, exposure management, trading execution, hedging, liquidity management, P/L review, or counterparty management. 3. Strong understanding of FX products and market practices across major currencies familiarity with spot, forward, swap, NDF, and other relevant FX instruments is preferred. 4. Experience working with corporate clients, fintech clients, payment companies, e-commerce merchants, or internal business stakeholders on FX or treasury-related needs. 5. Ability to understand business scenarios and translate them into structured FX solutions, risk management measures, and system requirements. 6. Strong analytical thinking, logical problem-solving skills, and ability to break down complex tasks into executable plans. 7. Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline. Preferred qualifications: 1. Experience in payment companies, fintech platforms, e-commerce, merchant acquiring, cross-border payments, or global treasury operations. 2. Experience building or operating FX platforms, quotation systems, exposure monitoring tools, trading workflows, risk dashboards, or automation capabilities. 3. Background in FX sales, FX solutions, corporate treasury advisory, structured FX, treasury operations, or payment-related FX management candidates with pure proprietary trading experience only may be less aligned with the role. 4. Familiarity with FX regulations, settlement practices, and payment market dynamics in SEA, LATAM, or other emerging markets. 5. Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to work with product, engineering, business, finance, risk, and external partners. 6. Self-driven, fast learner, comfortable working in ambiguous and fast-paced environments. 7. CFA, FRM, or experience using data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or BI dashboards is a plus.
