About Teman Co-Operative and Teman Collective Ground Up

Teman Co-Operative is a proposed member-owned co-operative in Singapore focused on creating employment, enterprise, and community value across four focus areas and 10 specialist streams.

Teman Collective Ground Up is the proposed formation and mobilisation platform that brings people together to shape the co-operative's early structure, membership, and activities. Together, they form a community-led ecosystem that moves from engagement to enterprise to long-term sustainability.

Founding Roles

We are currently looking for 3 founding team members to join the Teman Collective Ground Up formation process and help form the founding committee of Teman Co-Operative. These early roles will help shape the co-operative's direction, membership, systems, and operational foundations, with the understanding that governance and operational functions may become more clearly separated as the co-operative grows.

Roles We Are Looking To Fill

1. Future Co-Operative Lead

A founding role for someone who can help guide the overall direction of the co-operative, support founder alignment, and keep the formation process moving forward.

2. Operations Lead

A practical, hands-on role for someone who can help coordinate meetings, systems, member engagement, information sessions, and day-to-day setup work.

3. Finance and Governance Lead

A role for someone who can help with budgeting, reporting, records, compliance readiness, and the early governance structure of the co-operative.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in an early-stage, evolving environment.
• Interest in cooperative development, community enterprise, or social impact.
• Organised, reliable, and willing to contribute consistently.
• Experience in operations, governance, finance, coordination, or community work is an advantage.

Important Note

This is an early-stage opportunity and begins as a volunteer or part-time contribution role. Over time, these founding roles are expected to evolve into more clearly defined governance and operational positions as the co-operative formalises and grows.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open only to Singapore citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents, as co-operative membership is limited to those eligible under the proposed structure.
