We are looking for a hands-on, commercially driven, and people-focused Food Kiosk Store Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations and overall performance of the kiosk. The Store Manager will lead the team, drive sales and profitability, maintain high standards of food quality and hygiene, manage inventory and costs, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. The successful candidate should be a strong operator who can balance people, service, quality, and business performance. The Store Manager is accountable for the overall success of the kiosk - leading the team, delivering excellent customer service, driving sales, controlling costs, maintaining food quality and safety, and ensuring consistent operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store Operations & Management
- Take full ownership for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation and performance of the food kiosk.
- Ensure opening, operating, and closing procedures are completed accurately and consistently.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, product presentation, service, cleanliness, and store appearance.
- Ensure all company SOPs, policies, and operational standards are followed.
- Monitor equipment and facilities and coordinate timely maintenance or repairs.
- Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
2. Sales & Business Performance
- Take ownership of the kiosk's daily, monthly, and annual sales performance.
- Drive achievement of sales, revenue, and profitability targets.
- Analyse sales trends, product performance, customer preferences, and peak periods.
- Implement appropriate sales initiatives, upselling, promotions, and product recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve store profitability.
- Monitor key operating costs and take action to improve productivity and cost efficiency.
- Provide regular business and performance updates to management.
3. People Management & Leadership
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop the kiosk team in accordance with company requirements.
- Plan manpower requirements and prepare effective staff rosters based on business needs.
- Allocate duties and ensure sufficient manpower during peak periods.
- Monitor staff performance, attendance, punctuality, grooming, and work discipline.
- Conduct regular coaching and provide constructive feedback to improve team performance.
- Build a positive, accountable, and service-oriented team culture.
- Manage staff issues professionally and escalate disciplinary matters when required.
- Lead by example and actively support the team during busy operating periods.
4. Customer Experience
- Ensure consistently high standards of customer service.
- Build strong relationships with regular customers and understand customer needs.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Investigate service issues and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve the overall customer experience.
5. Food Quality, Safety & Hygiene
- Ensure all food preparation, storage, handling, and service comply with company standards and applicable food safety requirements.
- Maintain strict standards of personal hygiene, food hygiene, cleanliness, and sanitation.
- Monitor product freshness, expiry dates, storage conditions, and temperature controls.
- Ensure food preparation follows approved recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Conduct regular checks on cleanliness and food safety practices.
- Take immediate corrective action when quality, hygiene, or food safety issues are identified.
6. Inventory, Purchasing & Cost Control
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock without unnecessary overstocking.
- Monitor stock usage, wastage, spoilage, and variances.
- Conduct regular stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Ensure proper receiving, checking, storage, and rotation of supplies.
- Monitor food costs and implement measures to minimise wastage.
- Coordinate with suppliers or management on stock replenishment and supply issues.
- Ensure appropriate FIFO practices are followed.
7. Financial Controls
- Oversee daily POS transactions, refunds, discounts, and payment procedures.
- Ensure accurate daily sales reconciliation and reporting.
- Monitor payment variances and investigate discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure all financial and payment-control procedures are strictly followed.
- Protect company assets and minimise operational losses.
8. Reporting & Administration
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly sales, stock, wastage, manpower, and operational reports.
- Monitor store KPIs and take corrective action where performance falls below expectations.
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
- Support management in budgeting, forecasting, business reviews, and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure required licences, records, checklists, and operational documents are properly maintained.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in food & beverage, retail, hospitality, or a similar service environment.
- Previous experience managing a food outlet, kiosk, café, restaurant, or retail store is preferred.
- Proven experience in team leadership, sales management, inventory control, and daily store operations.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage sales, costs, wastage, and profitability.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable using POS systems and basic sales/inventory reporting tools.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety practices.
- Highly organised, responsible, proactive, and results-oriented.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of store performance.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, shift-based position, 6 days work week
