Full-Time Cover Teacher

Purpose of the Role

The Cover Teacher will ensure continuity of teaching and learning during staff absence by providing high-quality classroom instruction, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment, and supporting the academic and pastoral development of students across the Primary and Secondary sections.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons in line with existing curriculum plans and schemes of work prepared by absent staff.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the learning needs of students in different age groups (Primary and Secondary).
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies.
• Provide feedback to relevant subject leaders and class teachers regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Supervise students during lessons, transitions, and where required (e.g.,assemblies, duties).
• Support the safeguarding and well-being of all students in line with school policies.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and participation during covered lessons.

Requirements

• Recognized teaching qualification or equivalent experience. (Essential)
• Experience teaching in both Primary and/or Secondary school settings (international school experience preferred). (Preferred)
• Strong classroom management skills. (Essential)
• Flexibility and adaptability to cover a range of subjects and age groups. (Essential)
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and parents. (Preferred)

Reporting Line

Reports to: Head of Primary / Head of Secondary
Works closely with: Cover supervisor, Class Teachers, Subject Leaders, and Senior Leadership Team
