Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time Coding and Robotics Instructor to teach and lead coding and robotics enrichment programs for children aged 4-16. You will design and deliver engaging curricula, manage the robotics lab, and foster a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver robotics and coding curricula tailored to students aged 4-16 with varying skill levels to enhance their programming and robotics knowledge
- Teach students to operate robotics equipment and programming software to build practical skills and confidence
- Manage and maintain the robotics lab, ensuring all equipment and supplies are functional and available for lessons
- Evaluate student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback and support to students and parents to promote continuous learning
- Organize and lead robotics competitions and events to encourage student engagement and application of skills
- Stay informed on the latest robotics technologies and educational trends to continuously improve teaching content and methods
- Collaborate with instructors and staff to plan and implement cross-disciplinary projects and events that enrich student learning experiences
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments to track development and inform instruction
- Participate in professional development and training to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience teaching and managing children in a classroom setting
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Scratch, and Java
- Knowledge of robotics equipment and software including Arduino, LEGO SPIKE Essential and Prime, and VEX Robotics
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging and effective curricula
- Adaptability to evolving technology and education trends
- Strong organizational and time management skills
