Role Overview
As a server and captain, you will be the face of Dearborn Breakfast Club - greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and drinks, and ensuring each guest has a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. You'll work closely with both the kitchen and barista teams to deliver service that feels genuine, attentive, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests with warmth and professionalism.
- Present menus, take food and beverage orders, and relay them accurately to the kitchen/bar.
- Serve food, coffee, and drinks promptly and correctly.
- Monitor tables to ensure guests have everything they need, anticipating requests when possible.
- Handle guest concerns or complaints with patience and a problem-solving mindset.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including resetting tables quickly.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently.
- Follow all caf policies, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Support teammates to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a server, waiter/waitress, or in hospitality is a plus, but not required - we're happy to train the right person.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, guest-first attitude.
- Ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player who's reliable, punctual, and willing to jump in wherever needed.
- Attention to detail and pride in delivering excellent service.
