Freight Operations Specialist

Shipping Operations (70%)
. Manage end-to-end post-fixture operations for chartered vessels from pre-fixture to completion
. Oversee vessel operations, ensuring compliance with charter party terms and cost efficiency
. Prepare voyage P&L, issue voyage instructions, and arrange agents, surveyors, and bunkers
. Review shipping documents (e.g., B/L, LOI, stowage plans) and handle claims with legal/P&I
. Manage freight invoicing, laytime, demurrage/despatch, hire payments, and reconciliations
. Coordinate with stakeholders (owners, charterers, brokers, agents) for smooth operations
. Monitor vessel performance and resolve operational disputes per contract terms
. Support trade ops on laytime, NOR, and freight/hire matters
. Maintain operational data, vessel positions, and prepare charter party documentation

Risk Management (20%)
. Support contract review and recommend risk mitigation measures
. Identify and manage operational, financial, and trade-related risks
. Ensure accurate and compliant documentation
. Assess risks (e.g., weather, port congestion) and implement mitigation actions

Compliance (5%)
. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with regulations and internal controls
. Work with Compliance team to maintain and improve processes

Others (5%)
. Perform additional duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE
. Degree in Maritime, Logistics, or related field
. 3-5 years experience in dry bulk chartering/operations
. Knowledge of dry bulk commodities (e.g., coal, iron ore) preferred
. Strong understanding of maritime operations and terminology
. Good industry network and market knowledge
. Proficient in English and Mandarin
. Familiar with IMOS and Microsoft Office
. Able to multitask and work under pressure
