With a collaborative culture, flat hierarchy and exceptional growth trajectory, you'll have the chance to make a genuine impact while working alongside some of the industry's brightest professionals.

We're looking for an experienced Freight Accountant to join a growing finance function in Singapore, reporting directly to the Head of Accounting. You'll take ownership of the finance operations for a newly established shipping entity and play a key role in supporting one of the business's fastest-growing divisions.

The Opportunity

You'll be responsible for the end-to-end accounting of a specialist freight shipping business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance and commercial insight while partnering closely with operational and trading teams.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own the accounting for ocean freight activities, including freight revenue, voyage costs, lease accounting and ancillary expenses.
  • Lead monthly close processes, reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Partner with commercial and operations teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
  • Produce freight margin analysis and cost allocation reporting for senior leadership.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in line with Singapore accounting and tax regulations.
  • Support statutory audits and prepare audit schedules.
  • Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes and reporting.
  • Deliver both standard and ad hoc financial analysis for senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Act as the finance subject matter expert, ensuring robust controls and accounting best practice.

About You

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 5+ years accounting experience, including at least two years within shipping, freight or maritime.
  • Strong understanding of ocean freight operations and documentation.
  • Experience with lease accounting (IFRS 16 preferred).
  • Experience working within a Singapore Maritime Sector Incentive (MSI-ASIS) environment is highly advantageous.
  • Exposure to VESON IMOS would be a bonus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with the confidence to work across finance, operations and commercial teams.
