Job Summary
JusConnect LLP seeks skilled Freelance Translators across all language pairs to deliver accurate legal translations, affirm affidavits, and attend court proceedings as expert witnesses when required.
Responsibilities
- Translate legal and corporate documents accurately from source to target language, preserving original meaning, tone, legal intent, and context
- Translate materials including contracts, court pleadings, affidavits, witness statements, correspondence, agreements, and regulatory records
- Review, proofread, and revise translations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and correct legal terminology
- Research legal, technical, and industry-specific terminology to support translation accuracy
- Collaborate with legal support teams to clarify terminology, context, and client requirements
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client documents and sensitive information
- Manage urgent deadlines related to court filings, hearings, and trial preparations effectively
- Execute affidavits, affirmations, or sworn statements attesting to translation accuracy when required
- Attend court proceedings, hearings, or trials as an expert witness or translator when necessary
- Communicate professionally with lawyers, courts, and clients to support legal processes
- Work independently to deliver high-quality translations within short timelines
Required competencies and certifications
- Proven experience translating legal, litigation, or corporate documents
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and document structure
- Excellent written grammar, syntax, and comprehension in both working languages
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive legal information responsibly
- Willingness to swear or affirm affidavits for completed translation work
- Availability to attend court proceedings in Singapore when required
- Professional conduct and communication skills suitable for legal environments
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree or formal training in translation, linguistics, law, or related fields
