Job Description

The Skills Ambassador (SA) is a frontline representative of Lifelong Learning Singapore's (LLSG) advisory service. The primary objective of this role is to guide Singaporeans and Permanent Residents in identifying their skills and training needs to support professional growth. You will help individuals navigate the evolving landscape of emerging economies and recommend suitable courses and programmes to bridge critical skills gaps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personalised Skills and Training Advisory: Deliver one-to-one consultations to assess clients professional backgrounds, experiences, and aspirations to establish a comprehensive understanding of their developmental needs.
  • Skills Gap Identification and Recommendation: Provide tailored skills progression pathways by identifying specific gaps and recommending relevant training programmes that align with the client's career objectives.
  • Career and Skills Trend Insights: Share up-to-date insights on career and skills trends to help individuals remain competitive and resilient in the workforce.
  • Programme and Initiative Navigation: Advise clients on various programmes and initiatives available to support individuals skills upgrading and lifelong learning journeys.
  • Client Empowerment: Facilitate a clear understanding of recommended initiatives, empowering individuals to take ownership of their upskilling paths through informed decision-making.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • At least 2 years of prior experience in career advisory, coaching, or training and facilitation is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong ability to synthesise information and provide logical, actionable advice based on a client's unique profile.
  • Familiarity with the Singapore training landscape, including SkillsFuture initiatives and various Continuing Education and Training (CET) frameworks.
  • ACTA/ACLP/CAP/CFP certification is highly advantageous.
  • Must be able to work weekends

Please note that this is a freelance contract role, renewable every six months with renewal cycles occurring in April and October. Skills Ambassadors engaged under this contract are expected to commit to a minimum of 90 hours per month, ensuring consistent contribution and alignment with project needs throughout the contract period.
