Overview
As an integral part of the team, the Freelance Copywriter (Bahasa Indonesia) will help shape the creative direction and transcreation of content in Bahasa Indonesia and be responsible for creating clear, concise and compelling copy for the client's web, in-store, eDMs and other marketing communication platforms in Indonesia.
The ideal candidate is technically-savvy, possesses a keen eye and an exceptional attention to detail to ensure clarity and accuracy in each project copy. He/She should be flexible, adaptable and results-driven, with the skills to work across stakeholders, and an ability to focus and prioritise in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
You will be required to build strong working relationships with the in-market and global teams to ensure delivery of linguistically and tonally perfect campaigns that will ensure the client's products stand out in your market.
This is a freelance role with no end date.
Responsibilities
- Transcreate/Write, review, and elevate campaign copy that result in effective and compelling communication for the client's brand and products across Indonesia
- Maintain consistency in the brand's tone of voice regardless of media format
- Ensure all messages are clear, follow the spirit of the English master copy and communicate the same strategic or product message
- Guide and maintain the quality of the translated long copy
- Review, rewrite and approve all translated marketing copy from our translation partners
- Work with a team of other copywriters, editors and translators and take full responsibility for the quality and accuracy of their work
- Validate TV, print and digital advertising created by our advertising agency and help steer the team in decisions made on behalf of the client
Qualifications
- Accomplished advertising creative director/senior copywriter (for Bahasa Indonesia copy across Indonesia)
- Creative thinker with solid copywriting skills and thorough understanding of tone/brand voice
- Worked on international and local brands
- Confident when presenting creative ideas and able to do that in a simple, clear way, with just the right amount of detail
- Cares about the craft and obsessed with excellent writing that is thoughtful, meaningful, clear, inspiring and provocative at times
- A conceptual creative who can come up with big ideas (when needed) but also capable of paying attention to the smallest details.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English
- Understanding of language subtleties (especially when it comes to adapting creative)
- Team player - easy to get along with and able to work closely with Editors and wider production teams
- Possess a good sense of humour (trust us, there'll be days when you'll need it)
- Must be able to perform effectively and efficiently under time pressure.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt within an environment of constant change
