Freelance Animator

A creative team is seeking an animator or small studio to collaborate on a short-form video series for children, centered on a whimsical, character-led hotel universe. The animation style should evoke a handcrafted, felt-inspired aestheticdrawing on visual and tonal cues from Andrea Love, The Tiny Chef Show, and Fantastic Mr. Fox. The project involves refining hand-drawn character illustrations, developing animated assets for 23 characters, and producing 35 short videos (1530 seconds each) that balance textured visual charm with narrative rhythm. Voiceovers, scripts, a moodboard, and foundational assets will be provided. This is an opportunity to help shape a distinctive visual identity for an emerging children&aposs content brand, with product development in children&aposs wear planned alongside the launch. The initial project will span 68 weeks, with potential for ongoing collaboration.

Requirements

• Proven experience in character animation with a handcrafted, tactile aesthetic (felt, wool, or digital mimicry)
• Strong portfolio demonstrating textured or stop-motion-inspired animation
• Ability to refine and animate existing character designs
• Proficiency in digital animation tools that can simulate handmade textures
• Experience working with short-form looping or narrative video formats (1530 seconds)
• Creative sensibility for visual storytelling, rhythm, and tone in childrens content
• Comfort collaborating with supplied assets, scripts, and voiceovers
• Availability for a 68 week initial engagement, with interest in long-term collaboration
• Remote work capability
