This opportunity is ideal for experienced 3D artists with a strong portfolio of high-fidelity physics-based animation clips. The role involves licensing your existing 3D shots for use in a confidential AI research project, with a focus on realism and a diverse range of motion types. You must fully own the intellectual property of all submitted work, as the research team requires exclusive access to original content for analysis. Selected artists will retain IP ownership, with samples used strictly for research purposes. There is potential for additional paid work involving minor variations of the licensed samples.
Deliverables
- Provide links to your best relevant 3D animation clips (final renders; breakdowns optional).
- Submit a brief description for each sample, detailing the motion elements and tools used.
- Ensure all clips demonstrate a wide range of motion types (rigid, jointed, non-rigid) and include elements such as furniture, machinery, cloth, fluid, or soft bodies.
- Supply perfectly tracked geometry and movement, with 2D or 3D dense/sparse tracks following specific points through time.
- Deliver samples free of third-party IP, copyrighted or trademarked content, and close lookalikes of well-known media.
- Highlight especially relevant work, such as character/superhero sequences, FX-heavy shots (smoke, fire, particles, destruction, weather), and complex compositing or CG/live-action integration.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Unreal, Houdini, Cinema4D, or Maya.
- Demonstrated experience in creating realistic 3D physics simulations.
- Full ownership and control of all submitted portfolio clips.
- Ability to provide source files upon request.
- Attention to detail in tracking, compositing, and integration of CG elements.
- Availability for potential follow-up work, including making minor variations to existing samples.
- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly describe technical aspects of your work.
