Our client is a charity organisation that offer community care and healthcare services. They are currently seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst (Budgeting & Reporting) to join their Finance team.
About the role:
Responsible for internal budgeting, monitoring all financial postings, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of management reporting. This role ensures the organisation has reliable financial data for decision-making and budget control, with a focus on internal financial discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of departmental budgets and the overall group budget.
- Monitor all postings across the finance function to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper allocation.
- Perform regular variance analysis between actuals, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc management reporting is accurate and delivered on time.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain and improve budgeting and reporting templates, tools, and processes.
- Partner with Accounting / Finance Operations to ensure posting accuracy and compliance.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or posting issues promptly.
- Provide insights on cost trends, spending patterns, and budget adherence.
- Assist leadership with scenario modelling and internal financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.
- Support audits and provide necessary documentation related to budget and postings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field professional qualification preferred (CA, CPA, ACCA).
- 5-8 years of experience in FP&A or financial control functions.
- Strong experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and journal postings.
- Proficient in ERP systems (preferably Business Central) and Excel.
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy in reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing cycles.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
