Job Description

Our client is a charity organisation that offer community care and healthcare services. They are currently seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst (Budgeting & Reporting) to join their Finance team.

About the role:

Responsible for internal budgeting, monitoring all financial postings, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of management reporting. This role ensures the organisation has reliable financial data for decision-making and budget control, with a focus on internal financial discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of departmental budgets and the overall group budget.
  • Monitor all postings across the finance function to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper allocation.
  • Perform regular variance analysis between actuals, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc management reporting is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain and improve budgeting and reporting templates, tools, and processes.
  • Partner with Accounting / Finance Operations to ensure posting accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or posting issues promptly.
  • Provide insights on cost trends, spending patterns, and budget adherence.
  • Assist leadership with scenario modelling and internal financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.
  • Support audits and provide necessary documentation related to budget and postings.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field professional qualification preferred (CA, CPA, ACCA).
  • 5-8 years of experience in FP&A or financial control functions.
  • Strong experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and journal postings.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (preferably Business Central) and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy in reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing cycles.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
